Climate of Kenya

Kenya has a diverse and pleasant climate that varies across different regions of the country. Because Kenya lies close to the Equator, it enjoys warm temperatures throughout the year, making it an attractive destination for travelers in every season.

The coastal areas, including Mombasa, experience a tropical climate with hot temperatures and high humidity, while the central highlands, including Nairobi, have a cooler and more comfortable climate due to their higher altitude.

Kenya has two main rainy seasons: the “long rains” from March to May and the “short rains” from October to December. The dry seasons are generally sunny and ideal for tourism, safaris, and outdoor activities.

The country’s climate supports a wide variety of landscapes, from green forests and fertile highlands to savannahs and semi-arid regions. This rich climate diversity also helps Kenya maintain its famous wildlife and natural beauty.

Overall, Kenya’s climate is one of its greatest attractions, offering sunshine, beautiful scenery, and enjoyable weather throughout most of the year.
