This three-day Kenyan safari explores the Samburu National Reserve, situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River in Kenya. This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephants, lions, giraffes and zebras from the surrounding savannah plains. All three big cats, lions, leopards, and cheetahs are also regularly spotted. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Maasai.
Samburu has a rugged and dramatic landscape, the river Ewaso Ng’iro runs along the southern boundary and is home to crocodiles and hippos with many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day.
Species of the game unique to Samburu include the Beisa oryx, the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich.
Weu2019ll pick you up at your Nairobi hotel and drive to Samburu National Reserve. The road takes us along the Kenyan Northern frontier district. Youu2019ll enjoy a picnic lunch along the way.

Lunch will jump in somewhere in the middle of the day, and a delicious dinner at your lodge will make the day a perfect one.
Rise and shine before the sun and head for an amazing early morning game drive – Samburu will present itself in a different light, shape, and wildlife action. Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and then drive back to Nairobi. You will arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon.
